The Old Man of Storr

Any portrayal of the ‘the Old Man of Storr,’ the famous Highlands rock formation created 60 million years ago by volcanic activity, must include the water in the distance and dramatic skies reflecting the Scottish seasons. Skye is a special place for Fraser, whose uncle has traced their McDonald ancestry to that part of Scotland. The ‘Macdonald of the Isles’, or ‘Lord of the Isles’ was head of one of the most powerful clans of its time, and Fraser has visited Flora MacDonald’s famous memorial in the Kilmuir burial ground on the island.
